Why do so many SPC projects run out of steam?
Statistical process control is a proven method. However, many manufacturing facilities have had SPC software that eventually ended up being used only for audits. The reasons are almost always the same:
- A Theoretical Configuration : Sampling frequencies and sample sizes determined by the office, without taking into account the actual pace of the job.
- Alerts That Are Too Chatty : By constantly pointing out minor discrepancies, people no longer react to the real abuses.
- A company-wide rollout : too many references and features all at once, and a project that’s getting bogged down.
- No contact person identified : Without a project manager, a workshop coordinator, and an IT coordinator, decisions drag on.
- No review routine : The control charts are being filled out, but no one is analyzing them.
Our coaching method addresses each of these points, step by step.

The Steps for Implementing the SPC

(1 day)
Assess the feasibility of implementing SPC software. We track each part from raw material to shipment, working with quality control, metrology, and inspectors: checks performed, measurement tools used, and what has already been traced versus what has not. We then compare your current workflow to the target workflow in Ellistat to determine what will be included in the pilot and what will remain outside the scope for now.
Before leaving the site, the project team is assembled and the pilot reference point is selected: one that is representative of production, frequently measured, and connected to an existing measurement system. The action plan is dated, assigned, and approved with you on-site—not sent to you in a report two weeks later.
- Diagnostic Report (Discrepancies, Recommendations)
- Dated and signed action plan
- Pilot reference identified
- Gantt Chart for the SPC Project

of standards
(2 to 5 days)
Your key users and the project team are trained on the software by directly developing their own standards:
- website creation,
- control ranges,
- custom fields,
- configuring contexts and alerts,
- connecting measuring instruments,
- creation of dashboards
- …
As an optional feature (based on a quote), your historical data can be automatically imported into Ellistat (see below).
- SPC software configured for the pilot part number
- Independent software project team

(based on a quote)
- Make the Ellistat SPC software operational right from the start
- Avoid manual re-entry and the associated errors
- Historical data imported and verified in Ellistat
- Product lines and features associated with the correct part numbers
